서화평 목사의 ‘굳모닝기도편지’

하나님의 임재연습(The Practice of the Presence of God)-묵상(7) 12/11/2018(화.Tue.)

(히. Heb 11:6)
“믿음이 없이는 하나님을 기쁘시게 하지 못하나니 하나님께 나아가는 자는 반드시 그가 계신 것과 또한 그가 자기를 찾는 자들에게 상 주시는 이심을 믿어야 할지니라.
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”

로렌스 형제는 나에게 자기의 영적인 생활의 기초는 믿음이며, 그 믿음이 자기에게 하나님의 높으신 위치를 계시해 주었노라고 말했다. 한 번 이 사실이 마음 깊숙한 곳에 분명히 자리하게 되자, 범사를 하나님 사랑하는 마음으로 수행하는 일은 훨씬 더 쉬워졌다고 했다.
하나님께 대한 이 굳건한 믿음이야말로 그분께 커다란 영광이 될 뿐만 아니라 주님으로 하여금 하늘 문을 활짝 열어 자신의 기도에 응답하시고 축복을 소나기처럼 부어 주시게 하는 것이라는 사실을 그는 진실로 깨달아 알고 있었다.

Brother Lawrence confided to me that the foundation of his spiritual life was the faith that revealed to him the exalted position of God. Once this became secure in the depths of his heart, he was easily able to do all his actions for the love of God. He truly understood that this solid faith in God was a great honor to Him and gave the Lord an open door to answer his prayers and shower blessings upon him.

주님, 나의 믿음의 근거가 진실로 다른 것이 아니라, 범사에 주님을 신뢰하고 평생에 하나님을 사랑하는 것이 되기를 원합니다.
