“부활의 증인된 축복과 감사”
■ [사도행전(Acts) 26:13-23]
(행 26:13) 왕이여 정오가 되어 길에서 보니 하늘로부터 해보다 더 밝은 빛이 나와 내 동행들을 둘러 비추는지라
(행 26:14) 우리가 다 땅에 엎드러지매 내가 소리를 들으니 히브리 말로 이르되 사울아 사울아 네가 어찌하여 나를 박해하느냐 가시채를 뒷발질하기가 네게 고생이니라
(행 26:15) 내가 대답하되 주님 누구시니이까 주께서 이르시되 나는 네가 박해하는 예수라
(행 26:16) 일어나 너의 발로 서라 내가 네게 나타난 것은 곧 네가 나를 본 일과 장차 내가 네게 나타날 일에 너로 종과 증인을 삼으려 함이니
(행 26:17) 이스라엘과 이방인들에게서 내가 너를 구원하여 그들에게 보내어
(행 26:18) 그 눈을 뜨게 하여 어둠에서 빛으로, 사탄의 권세에서 하나님께로 돌아오게 하고 죄 사함과 나를 믿어 거룩하게 된 무리 가운데서 기업을 얻게 하리라 하더이다
(행 26:19) 아그립바 왕이여 그러므로 하늘에서 보이신 것을 내가 거스르지 아니하고
(행 26:20) 먼저 다메섹과 예루살렘에 있는 사람과 유대 온 땅과 이방인에게까지 회개하고 하나님께로 돌아와서 회개에 합당한 일을 하라 전하므로
(행 26:21) 유대인들이 성전에서 나를 잡아 죽이고자 하였으나
(행 26:22) 하나님의 도우심을 받아 내가 오늘까지 서서 높고 낮은 사람 앞에서 증언하는 것은 선지자들과 모세가 반드시 되리라고 말한 것밖에 없으니
(행 26:23) 곧 그리스도가 고난을 받으실 것과 죽은 자 가운데서 먼저 다시 살아나사 이스라엘과 이방인들에게 빛을 전하시리라 함이니이다 하니라
■ 부름받은 바울 (26:13~18)
인생의 전환점이 되는 순간이 있습니다. 그때 우리는 누군가를 만나기도 하고, 어떤 일을 맞닥뜨리기도 합니다. 바울은 그리스도인들을 박해하려고 다메섹으로 가던 길에 이러한 순간을 맞이했습니다. 살아 계신 부활의 주님을 만난 바울은 그리스도인을 박해하는 것은 곧 예수 그리스도를 박해하는 것이며, 이제껏 자신이 헛되고 무모한 일을 한 것임을 깨달았습니다. 그리고 바울은 주님이 자신을 선택하셔서 그분의 종과 증인으로 삼으신다는 말씀을 들었습니다. 바울을 어둠에서 빛으로 불러내신 주님은 이스라엘과 이방인을 어둠에서 빛으로 사탄의 나라에서 하나님의 나라로 인도하는 일에 그를 사용하실 것입니다(18절). 주님으로 인해 ‘사망에서 생명으로'(요 5:24) 옮겨진 사람은 아직까지 삶의 전환점을 맞이하지 못한 아들에게 자신이 만난 구원의 주님을 증언해야 합니다
■ 증인의 사명을 변론함 (26:19~23)
하나님의 뜻을 분명히 깨달은 사람은 길이 험난해도 순종하며 사명을 끝까지 감당합니다. 바울은 유대인과 이방인에게 회개를 촉구하며 하나님께로 돌아오라고 외쳤습니다. 그것이 하나님의 뜻이었기 때문입니다. 바울은 이 일로 유대인들에게 죽음의 위협을 받기도 했습니다. 그러나 하나님이 그를 인도하였기에, 그는 여전히 살아서 모든 사람에게 복음을 전할 수 있었습니다. 그리스도(메시야)가 고난당하시고 죽은 자 가운데서 부활하셔서 온 인류의 빛이 되신다는 구약성경의 예언은 예수님을 통해 이루어졌습니다. 하나님은 오늘도 이 진리를 알리는 주님의 증인들을 지지해 주십니다.
■ 오늘의 기도
부르심을 받고 제 신분이 '복음의 증인’으로 바뀐 순간을 떠올려 봅니다. 그리고 그 은혜 주셨음을 감사하며 주님을 찬양합니다. 이 사명을 감당함에 나의 경험과 비전 그리고 거룩한 일에 대한 열정과 목적이 아닌 그리스도 예수님만을 향하는 사랑이 동기가 되게 끝까지 붙들어 주옵소서. 아멘.

“A Light from Heaven”
■ [사도행전(Acts) 26:13-23]
13 About noon, King Agrippa, as I was on the road, I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, blazing around me and my companions. 14 We all fell to the ground, and I heard a voice saying to me in Aramaic,‘Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’ 15 “Then I asked, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ “ ‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,’ the Lord replied. 16 ‘Now get up and stand on your feet. I have appeared to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen and will see of me. 17 I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them 18 to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’ 19 “So then, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the vision from heaven. 20 First to those in Damascus, then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and then to the Gentiles, I preached that they should repent and turn to God and demonstrate their repentance by their deeds. 21 That is why some Jews seized me in the temple courts and tried to kill me. 22 But God has helped me to this very day; so I stand here and testify to small and great alike. I am saying nothing beyond what the prophets and Moses said would happen— 23 that the Messiah would suffer and, as the first to rise from the dead, would bring the message of light to his own people and to the Gentiles.”
■ The Highest Authority (26:13—18)
As Paul continues his testimony about encountering Christ, he wisely adjusts parts of his testimony to suit his audience of high offcials. First, he shares what Jesus told him, "It is hard for you to kick against the goads," which basically means, "You cannot resist the will of God." Second, he gives Agrippa more details concerning the commission Jesus gave him: to turn both Jews and Gentiles away from darkness and the power of Satan to light and God. Finally, he does not cower before these earthly authorities of high political rank. Rather, he emphasizes the sovereignty and glory of Jesus and exalts Him as the highest authority. When faced with a choice between submitting to men or exalting God, we should choose to exalt God.
■ God Will Help (26:19-23)
Paul recognizes that Agrippa is a Jew and well-versed in the scriptural teachings about being obedient to God's revealed will. He therefore explains that Jesus is the Messiah and the fulfillment of what the prophets and Moses have said. This is the message Paul preached to the Jews when he urged them to repent and turn to God, and it is the message that almost got him killed. Despite having faced grave danger, Paul continues to preach the Gospel boldly because God is helping him. May we also have the boldness of Paul to share our faith with others, trusting that God will help us.
■ Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank you that salvation comes from You. Help me to know Your Word so that I can be used to proclaim Your Good News to others in powerful and effective ways. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
