하나님의 임재연습(The Practice of the Presence of God)-묵상(10) 12/14/2018(금.Fri.)

• (롬. Rom 8:28)

“우리가 알거니와 하나님을 사랑하는 자 곧 그의 뜻대로 부르심을 입은 자들에게는 모든 것이 합력하여 선을 이루느니라. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

• (롬. Rom 12:1)

“그러므로 형제들아 내가 하나님의 모든 자비하심으로 너희를 권하노니 너희 몸을 하나님이 기뻐하시는 거룩한 산 제물로 드리라 이는 너희가 드릴 영적 예배니라.

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God`s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God -- this is your spiritual act of worship.”

로렌스 형제는 말하기를, 그리스도 안에서 자아에 대해서 죽거나 자기 자신을 잃어버리는 것에 대해서도 결코 두려워하지 않는다고 말했다. 왜냐하면 하나님의 뜻에 대한 완전한 복종이야말로 자기가 좆이야 할 유일하게 안전한 길이기 때문이다. 그 안에는 언제나 충분한 빛이 있어서 그를 안전한 여정으로 인도해 주었다.

“일단 처음에는 행동하는 것이나 자아를 포기하는 것에 있어서 늘 신실해질 필요가 있다. 한 번 그러고 나면 오직 형언할 수 없는 기쁨만이 찾아들 것이다. 어려움이 찾아 오면 단순히 예수 그리스도께로 나가 그분의 은혜를 구한다. 그러면 모든 일은 잔잔히 제자리를 찾는다."

그의 말은 계속되었다. 일부 성도들은 이 정도면 되겠지 하는 수준에서 헌신을 멈추고는 정작 헌신의 목표가 되는 사랑은 슬쩍 무시하고 넘어간다는 것이다. 그들의 행동을 보면 금방 알 수 있다. 그들에게서 견고한 미덕을 찾아보기가 그렇게 힘든 것도 바로 그런 까닭이다. 그는 덧붙이기를, 하나님께 나아가는 데는 기술도 필요하지 않고 지식도 필요하지 않다고 말했다. 오직 필요한 것이 있다면 그 어떤 것들보다도 하나님만을 사랑하고자 하는, 그분께만 드려진 마음이라 할 수 있다.

With this assurance, Brother Lawrence wasn't afraid of anything. He added that he wasn't afraid of dying to self or losing himself in Christ, because complete surrender to God's will is the only secure road to follow. In it, there is always enough light to assure safe travel.

In the beginning, it is always necessary to be faithful, both in actions and in the renouncing of self. After that, there is only indescribable joy. If difficulties arise, simply turn to Jesus Christ and pray for His grace, with which everything will become easy.

Our brother remarked that some people go only as far as their regular devotions, stopping there and neglecting love, which is the purpose of those devotions. This could easily be seen in their actions and explained why they possessed so little solid virtue.

Neither skill nor knowledge is needed to go to God, he added. All that is necessary is a heart dedicated entirely and solely to Him out of love for Him above all others.

주님, 제가 매일매일 하나님과의 임재를 누리기 위해 필요한 것이 있다면 하나님만을 사랑하고자 하는 나의 전적인 헌신이 필요함을 마음에 둡니다. 그것이 나의 신앙의 본질이며, 나의 인생에 가장 안전한 길임을 분명히 확신하게 하옵소서. 아멘.
