하나님의 임재연습(The Practice of the Presence of God)-묵상(4) 12/06/2018(목.Thu.)

•(에베소서. Epe. 3:18~19)
“능히 모든 성도와 함께 지식에 넘치는 그리스도의 사랑을 알고 그 너비와 길이와 높이와 갚이가 어떠함을 깨달아 하나님의 모든 충만하신 것으로 너희에게 충만하게 하시기를 구하노라.
may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge -- that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”

로렌스 형제는 언제나 자기를 인도하는 것은 사랑이라고 말했다. 그는 그 밖의 어떤 이해 타산에 의해서도 결코 영향을 받아 본 적이 없었다. 심지어 그가 구원을 받기 이전에도 똑같았다.
그는 오직 하나님을 사랑하는 마음으로 그 어떤 사소한 허드렛일이라도 즐겨 하곤 했다. 그는 자기가 엄청난 부자라는 것을 알았다. 그는 그것이 하나님으로부터의 어떤 선물이라기보다는 오직 하나님 자신만을 구하는 데서 비롯되는 것이라고 믿었다.
하나님의 선물보다 하나님이 훨씬 더 크신 분임을 믿었던 것이다. 그리하여 그는 선물보다는 선물 너머의 것을 선택하면서 하나님을 좀 더 알게 되기를 갈망했다.

Brother Lawrence said that he was always guided by love. He was never influenced by any other interest, including whether or not he was saved. He was content doing the smallest chore if he could do it purely for the love of God. He even found himself quite well off, which he attributed to the fact that he sought only God and not His gifts. He believed that God is much greater than any of the simple gifts He gives us. Rather than desiring them from Him, he chose to look beyond the gifts, hoping to learn more about God Himself.

•주님, 저도 하나님으로부터의 어떤 선물을 추구하는 신앙이 아니라, 주의 사랑을 더 깊이 깨달아 오직 하나님 자신만을 구하는 신앙되게하소서. 아멘.
